Registering a foundation — statute, KRS and accounting

A foundation is a good vehicle for social, educational or charitable work — but it needs a well-thought-out statute and reliable accounting from day one. We help you through registration and stay with your foundation for the long term.

Registration step by step

1. We define the foundation's purpose, its founding capital and whether it will carry out business activity.
2. We prepare the statute and help with the declaration establishing the foundation, which is made before a notary.
3. We file the application with the KRS (the Polish National Court Register) via the Court Registers Portal. The court fee is PLN 250 for a foundation without business activity and PLN 600 for one with business activity (PLN 500 for the entry and PLN 100 for the announcement in the Court and Commercial Gazette).
4. After registration: CRBR filing, bank account, and VAT-R if required.

Foundation accounting

A foundation keeps full accounts, separating its statutory activity from its business activity. We account for donations, subsidies and grants, and prepare the financial statements and the CIT-8 return.

Family foundation

This is a different institution — it serves to protect assets and plan succession, is registered in a separate register of family foundations and is taxed under its own rules. We help set up and run family foundations, too.
