Starting a sole trader business — step-by-step help

You can register as a sole trader in a matter of minutes via CEIDG (the Polish Central Register of Business Activity). What's harder are the decisions you need to make along the way: tax regime, PKD codes, VAT, ZUS. Each of them has consequences for months to come — that's why we talk first and fill in the forms afterwards.

What we decide before registration

• Your tax regime — the progressive tax scale, flat 19% tax or the lump-sum tax on revenue. Based on your forecasts, we calculate which option (including the health insurance contribution) really comes out cheapest.
• PKD codes — under the PKD 2025 classification of business activities, so that they cover what you will actually be doing.
• VAT — whether you can and should use the VAT exemption, or whether it's better to register as an active VAT payer straight away.
• ZUS — the start-up relief, preferential contributions, "small ZUS plus" and when to use them.

Registration

We prepare the CEIDG-1 application (which also registers the business with the tax office, GUS and ZUS (Polish Social Insurance Institution)), the VAT-R registration and, where needed, details of your business bank account and cash register.
